I grew up in Cambridge, England and studied my first degree in Geology at Imperial College London and afterwards a PhD in Geoscience at Cardiff University, Wales. Since completing my studies, I have pursued a career in research that has taken me around the world, most recently working for the Australian government as a Science Coordinator. In 2021 I moved to Italy, where I run Johnson’s Linguistics – creating and delivering specialised English language services and educational programs for clients around the globe

Why I do what I do and love it

Throughout my career, I have routinely worked with international colleagues for whom English is an alternate language and understand first-hand the barriers that communication challenges can bring in the professional world. Following years of communication coaching, document reviews and writing, as well as ongoing study, I have developed extensive knowledge of the intricacies of academic and professional English. I enjoy sharing this with others and would love to share it with you, too – to find out more, email me.
